In the Spring of 2019, the Estonian Rescue Board received two simultaneous emergency calls detailing two separate truck collisions, one of which was carrying a dangerous chemical. Fortunately, the local Estonian rescue team had a drone using Edgybees’ augmented reality software. The drone was flown to the location, sending critical situational information to the rescue team-leader in real time.
Edgybees got its start with the first-responder community in 2017 when hurricane Irma hit the continental United States, and has since been a close friend of many different emergency response teams around the world. As demonstrated by the Estonian rescue team, Edgybees is dedicated to providing real-time situational awareness to first responders for a huge diversity of emergency operations. The solution augments live video feeds with GIS input, generating real-time visual display field on any screen.
Edgybees empowers first responders with life-saving, cutting-edge visual intelligence technology. The Estonian rescue department had the following to say:
“The drone sent situational pictures to the rescue team leader. It gave the commander very good understanding what is waiting for him and it saved a lot of time for intelligence activities”. Raido Haas, of the Estonian Rescue Board Rescue Department.
We would like to thank the brave operators at the Estonia rescue team.
